'Three pieces so colourful they almost verge on psychedelic! But I barely use colour now …
I have not looked at these for a long time (they were all in a portfolio stuffed in the wardrobe). I have no recollection of painting the butterfly, but my mother loves it. I remember very clearly sitting in the art exam painting the flowers with the best care I could. I do not remember experimenting with colour on my foundation course, and it seems from then on, through a BA and MA, I have become afraid of using colour.
Perhaps I should have made this my New Year’s Resolution?'
